Maybe you thought I was quoting Obama, but I’m quoting Harvey Milk. I only recently realized how few people know that name.

So before you “Google” it, or look it up on Wikipedia, keep reading.

I first watched this documentary four years ago in my sophmore year history class. My teacher was openly gay, and without Harvey he wouldn’t have had his job. I’m writing a paper about Milk for my leadership studies course, and I watched the doc as part of my research. It won an Oscar for best documentary, and it made my history class cry. It still makes me cry.

So if you didn’t know who I was talking about, I suggest you set aside the next hour or so to watch this. Clearly you’re wandering aimlessly around the internet, so do something worthy with your time.
